About the Webinar:

This webinar will describe key insights from Volume 3 (Communications) of the BRT Planning Guide, which presents the necessary steps to building a communications strategy used for engaging the public with BRT projects, educating customers on how to use the system, and marketing the project to a wide array of potential users. This topic covers strategic planning, public participation, marketing, and customer service.

Carlos Felipe Pardo | Executive Director of Despacio

Currently the Executive Director of, Carlos is a Colombian psychologist with a MSc in Contemporary Urbanism from the London School of Economics. He focuses on urban development, mobility, lighting and climate change projects in cities of the developing world. He has participated in technical consultancies in more than 30 cities in Asia, Latin America and Africa, and has coordinated and delivered more than 70 training courses on urban development, climate change, bus rapid systems, non-motorized transport, travel demand management and sustainable transport. He has experience coordinating projects at a regional level and is also the author of various documents.

In the former BRT Planning Guide, there was limited guidance on how to establish the original service plan. This webinar with review the new Service Planning chapter, based heavily on the work of leading BRT engineer Pedro Szasz, begin to open this black box, and start a dialog on service optimization strategies more generally.
