City officials to learn best practices of marketing, branding and communications for transit
After being successfully held in Rio de Janeiro in May this year, the second edition of the workshop “Marketing BRT: How to Attract and Captivate Users” is now coming to Belo Horizonte through a partnership between EMBARQ Brasil, Belo Horizonte City Hall and BHTRANS. The event will take place on October 31 to November 1 at the Hotel Othon Palace in Belo Horizonte.
The purpose of the workshop is to help city officials understand the importance of marketing, branding and communications for the successful planning and implementation of mass transit systems, particularly bus rapid transit (BRT).
International experts, media professionals and managers of transport agencies will show the challenges and the importance of developing effective marketing campaigns and relationships with users during different stages of BRT system implementation, in order to ensure user satisfaction and improved quality of service.
Participants will include mayors, secretaries of transportation, communication and technical teams, and associations of public transport operators of cities with BRT projects in progress, particularly sites that will be used as venues for the 2014 World Cup.
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with journalists who write about sustainable transport.
In addition to lectures and practical activities, EMBARQ Brasil invites all participants to experience three-dimensional interactive exhibit, showing all the real-world details of a typical BRT system.
