Economic, Environmental and Social Impacts of Bus Rapid Transit

High-quality bus rapid transit systems can impact the quality of life, productivity, health, and safety of people living in cities. The webinar will provide an overview of the recent report by EMBARQ on the Social, Environmental and Economic Impacts of Bus Rapid Transit. The presentation will provide a brief synthesis of existing literature and new data, and then focus on a detailed analysis of one of the four case studies to explore available evidence regarding BRT performance, costs and impacts. The four cases are: TransMilenio, Bogota, Colombia; Metrobús, Mexico City, Mexico; Rea Vaya, Johannesburg, South Africa; Metrobüs, Istanbul, Turkey.
