BRT+ Centre of Excellence invites to its monthly webinar series to share timely public transit research and encourage ongoing collaboration. Our November Webinar is:
“The limited-stop bus service design problem with stochastic passenger assignment”
Presented by Homero Larraín on November 29th, 7:00 Eastern Daylight Time (CSLT +2:00). To join the webinar you can register here. There will be sent all the information needed to connect to the platform.
The limited-stop bus service design problem is a very challenging non-linear problem, whose solution must at the same time account for bus capacity and reflect user behavior. Using a bi-level approach, we improve the solution time of a previous algorithm and allow for stochastic assignment, which is arguably more realistic and robust than the commonly used deterministic assignment.
Homero Larrain is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Transport Engineering and Logistics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He got a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2014. He is a member of the BRT+ research center and a collaborator in CEDEUS.
